Weekend Rewind: August 17th to August 23rd

The mobile industry moves forward incredibly fast. While we here at MobileCrunch try our damnedest to cover the important news exhaustively, we only have so many hands. To make sure you don’t miss any stories that may have slipped through the cracks, we’ve accumulated a handful of stories from the past week that we didn’t get a chance to post:

  • BlackBerry Storm 2 Video: We know the Storm 2 is coming, but there are still a few details that remain unclear: How does the new screen work? Will it have WiFi? This video explains both. (And yes – it has WiFi)
  • Qik for iPhone gets 3G Support: It still can’t stream live, but Qik’s (legit, no-jailbreak-needed) iPhone app can now do video uploads over 3G. In its initial release, uploads were WiFi-only.
  • Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition: Nokia has released a special GPS-centric edition of the 5800 XpressMusic. This bundle comes with a lifetime Drive and Walk navigation software license, along with a holster/charger for the car.
  • Samsung Reclaim coming to Bell next month: If being north of the border is the only thing keeping you from picking up Samsung’s eco-friendly-ish Reclaim, you’re in luck: sometime around the middle of next month, Bell will make the handset available in Canada.
