EdTwinge (@edtwinge) is a new “Twitter-powered” review site that scrapes any tweets mentioning a show or festival and works out whether the comment is positive or negative. It then produces a real-time leader board of the highest-rated acts currently happening. You can nick this “Fringe Top 10” as a widget for your blog or website.

It’s a beautifully-designed site, as you can see from the screenshot after the jump. One to watch and very useful for people into events like the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which is on, err, now. See what they did there?

We’re doing the same thing, but with a different twist :-)

Great minds think alike in Edinburgh, it seems!

Nice work guys congrats, now we need twitter review based recs in with ohh I don’t know, the Edinburgh Festivals iPhone app :-)

I’m watching the FestBuzz Vs EdTwinge, both doing great stuff.

Is it me, or did we all make the arts all about tech?

FestBuzz is lame because it tracks the hashtags instead of moods, and it has not followers – EdTwinge is so much better.

EdTwinge is so much better than Festbuzz, because FB only tracks hashtags, so tweets only happen when #festbuzz is tweeted….lame. Weird that there’s so much competition in this area though!

Fortunately that is not true. We match the show reviews based on show names as well. We don’t /need/ the hashtag to find the show – it just makes certain we find it. It’s the same for the edtwinge guys.

Way to go to both @festbuzz and @edtwinge. They’re both lovely groups of people, and competition is cool :)
