RedCritter already offers a Siverlight store for Microsoft Outlook. It is an open platform that allows any Silverlight developer to create social, productivity, business intelligence Apps that run inside Outlook. It is available at www.redcritter.com.

Interesting…

I’m not entirely sure if the answer for transplanted Yahoo and .NET developers wanting to develop for a platform like the iPhone is a Silverlight app store, instead of say the new Windows phone marketplace.

However, it is an interesting theory, and I would sure love to see an app store for cross-platform, cross-browser apps based on Silverlight.

There is an interesting twist in the Silverlight / IPhone story. Miguel, the guy that created “Mono” (Version of .Net that runs on Linux) has a related project in develpment called MonoTouch.

MonoTouch is a .Net compiler for the IPhone. Furthermore, checkout out the 1st bullet point under “Version 2″ of the MonoTouch roadmap at http://mono-project.com/MonoTouch_Roadmap

In case your feeling lazy, here it is: “Silverlight to iPhone compiler. ”
