Interesting...

I'm not entirely sure if the answer for transplanted Yahoo and .NET developers wanting to develop for a platform like the iPhone is a Silverlight app store, instead of say the new Windows phone marketplace.

However, it is an interesting theory, and I would sure love to see an app store for cross-platform, cross-browser apps based on Silverlight.

There is an interesting twist in the Silverlight / IPhone story. Miguel, the guy that created "Mono" (Version of .Net that runs on Linux) has a related project in develpment called MonoTouch.

MonoTouch is a .Net compiler for the IPhone. Furthermore, checkout out the 1st bullet point under "Version 2" of the MonoTouch roadmap at http://mono-project.com/MonoTouch_Roadmap

In case your feeling lazy, here it is: "Silverlight to iPhone compiler. "
