Ask German Dirk Auer about his hobbies and he’d probably mention something about inline skating on roller coaster tracks and behind bobsleds and race cars. Also, maybe he likes scrapbooking!
Before hitting 56 miles per hour skating down the Mammoth roller coaster in the above video, Auer also hit 190 miles per hour being pulled — on inline skates, of course, behind a Porsche.
The custom skates that Auer is wearing took about 110 hours to develop, while the actual ride down the roller coaster took a little over a minute. That actually seems worth it.
