Sarah:

You may be missing the point of PerfectForms. It is not an HTML form script generator. Rather it is an infrastructure and delivery platform for building Rich Internet Applications that are form and workflow centric with an object database behind.

They can be deployed in the cloud on PF servers, or on premises with a server license. The developer environment and the final applications are indeed Flash based, and the development process is mostly Drag and Drop and for the most part code-less. You don't do any flash development; flash is used as the platform for delivery of both the development environment and the final form based applications.

PF allows connections to a variety of other sources of data (such as backend SQL databases ) and highly customizable form control behaviors for validation and complex business rules.

It is not HTML or JavaScript based. And it scales.

It's a different animal altogether.

Hmmm ... I use Response-O-Matic and I really like it. Plus, it's FREE to create a dynamic form. You only get one for free, and then you have to start paying monthly. For $20/month you get tons of great features.

So the client is Flash-based...

and the server requires M$ Windows Server 2003 and ASP.NET 2.0 (for the on-premise install)...

Well, that sorta kills it for me. None of my clients want to run Flash-based anything for their Web apps and, for the ones that *must* run stuff on their premises, 1/2 of them use open-source technologies on the server and don't want to set up special servers just to run Windows...
