You own a Wii? You like Karaoke? But you suck at singing or you are so loud that you annoy everyone in your vicinity? No problem anymore, since Tokyo-based Japan Trust Technology (JTT) comes to the rescue with the so-called Mute Mic for the Nintendo Wii [JP].

The silent microphone has a soundproof cup that finally makes it possible for users to sing as loud (or as bad) as they want. All you need to do is to press your lips against the cup and start singing away (there is a conventional microphone inside the cup).

JTT says the cup is made of a substance that absorbs any kind of vibration so that sound won’t leak out no matter how loud you sing. Users worrying about hygiene can even wash the cup. This is totally fantastic, reminding me of the stress-absorbing magic vase from Japan I blogged about last year.

The Japan-only device costs $35. Bad or loud singers living outside Nippon should ask usual suspects Japan Trend Shop, Gizmine, Geek Stuff 4 U to get one for them.
