If you’ve been slowly but surely losing inches using Wii Fit or any other of the Wii’s calorie-burning games, adding a little extra weight from time to time may seem like a good idea.

At first glance, these Riiflex snap-in weights for the Wii-mote and Nunchuk look like the perfect complement to a few minutes of boxing or Wii Fit’s tricep extensions exercise. However, $34.99 for a set of two-pounders or $39.99 for the four-pound weights feels a bit pricey.

    According to Riiflex.com:

“Riiflex weights combine the durability you would expect from quality fitness gear, and innovative design you’ll appreciate each time you use these in your Wii, and Wii Fit exercise routines. The ergonomic grip provides secure control throughout a broad range of motions.”

Perhaps the laws of supply and demand will eventually bring the price down to earth. With standard two-pound dumbbell sets going for around ten bucks and everyone getting tired of shelling out for Wii accessory after Wii accessory, the Riiflex weights might have a rough time.

The two-pound set will ship this summer, with the four-pound set shipping shortly thereafter.
