Earth Hour was last night. From 8:30 to 9:30, no matter what time zone you live in, we were all asked to turn off outside lights and any inside lights that weren’t being used.
I live in an apartment with no outdoor lights and from 8:30 to 9:30 I was watching Law and Order: SVU reruns in the dark and reflecting on the past 30 years of my life, as is the custom on Saturday nights here in the Aamoth household. So I pretty much participated by default.
“Non-essential lights” on massive buildings were shut off for an hour all over the world as part of the event put on by the World Wildlife Fund. Anybody see anything cool where you live?
