    clubhouse strummer
That kooky Mark Frauenfelder over at Boing Boing is always making crazy stuff. His latest invention is what he’s calling the Clubhouse Strummer: a homebrew quasi-guitar thing. You know, for kids!

Based on drone tuning — the same technique used for dulcimers, sitars, and bagpipes — this thing looks pretty simple to make. Of course Mark had to go that extra mile to make it look really good. If you’re following along at home, don’t worry to much about how good yours looks. What matters is you’re being creative and making zany new musical instruments. You know, for kids!
