CrunchDeals: 24-inch monitor for $199

We’re finally starting to see 24-inch monitor prices fall below the $200 mark. Can you believe it? Seems like only yesterday they were all $600+ and proud owners were the envy of cubicle-dwellers everywhere. Now you can see what all the hubbub’s about for $199.

You’ll have to be a Costco member for this one so either take the plunge and invest in a membership or wait for another fine retailer to carry a 24-inch monitor for $199. It’ll happen. If you’ve already been initiated into the Costco Secret Society, the monitor is made by AOC and regularly costs $219.99 but is carrying a $20 discount until March 2nd.

Specs include a 1920×1200 resolution, 5ms response time, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, built-in speakers, and VGA and DVI inputs. So it’s not a top-of-the-line monitor by any means, but if size is what you’re after and you want to make your coworkers, friends, and family marginally jealous (although not as jealous as they would have been three years ago), then this might be a good monitor deal for you.
