Homebrew Half-Life movie kicks ass

Friday, February 13th, 2009

It’s amazing what a little talent, a little gear and a lot of imagination can accomplish. The Purchase Brothers purportedly spent $500 to produce two episodes in a Half-Life movie series. This isn’t machinima, folks, but real human beings acting this stuff out. Very, very cool.

The Purchase Brothers’ website has the full quality video available, too.

As Kotaku observes, a straight-up Half-Life movie, focusing on Gordon Freeman, would be pretty boring. But the Half-Life world is rich with other stories to tell, and it’s exciting to see people run with their ideas.

For more home-made movie fun, check out 405: The Movie, and my favorite, the Star Wars themed IMPS: The Relentless.
