EVE online says, "Buh-bye Linux"

04nIt’s a sad day for Linux gamers. Well, at least for Linux gamers who like to play incredibly complex and complicated space simulations. CCP games (creators of EVE) announced via a developers blog post recently that while they are continuing to offer support for the Mac platform, they are discontinuing development on the Linux side.

The blog post stated that while the number of players who use the Mac OS have been increasing in number, the number of Linux users who play the game hasn’t really grown much since it’s initial launch in 2007. And given the difficulty of developing a game for three different platforms, they are deciding to drop support for Linux.

So if you play EVE on a Linux machine, you have until March 10th, and then you’ll need to find another solution.
