4d_ultrasound_3d_printingDaddytypes found a cool article on a company that is thinking about casting ultrasound sculptures of unborn babies using 3D imaging and printing.

The service would cost something like $2,400 and has been pioneered by a denture molding company in the UK. While most ultrasound pictures are pretty rough and look nothing like the finished product – think see-through aliens in a chunky soup – I could imagine getting a good image and printing it out for posterity.
