That super slim mount-it-behind-your-monitor WindBOX that we told you about back in November has finally been officially announced by MSI and should be available soon.

It’s basically a net-top. Or a netbook without a screen. A netbook desktop. A desktop with an Atom processor that doesn’t actually sit on your desk. It could sit on your desk, though, but the idea is to attach it to your monitor’s VESA mount.

Specs!

  • Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 1 GB of RAM (1GB max)
  • 1 VGA out
  • 3 USB ports
  • Ethernet, Wi-Fi
  • 3-in-1 card reader
  • Takes one 2.5-inch SATA hard drive

It’ll be sold as a barebones unit, so you’ll need to add your own hard drive, RAM, and operating system. Availability is slated for this quarter and technically it’s being pitched as an industrial product, but you’re industrious aren’t you? If you said yes, then you can put one in your home.

No official word on price but early reports pegged it at around $250.
