robot_density

We all would have guessed it and now IIEE Spectrum Online has come up with some detailed and up-to-date statistics (from last month): Japan boasts the world’s highest density of robots.

Nippon now has 295 of robots for every 10,000 manufacturing workers, followed by its Asian neighbors Singapore (169) and South Korea (164). Germany (163 robots) ranks 4th and save Europe’s pride (Europe as a whole only has 50 robots). The USA is No. 9, having installed only 86 robots per 10,000 workers.

IIEE Spectrum analysed the density of robots in a total of 67 nations and says there are currently 1 million robots in use worldwide, with a plus of about 200,000 expected by 2011.
