A group of researchers from Panasonic and Japan’s finest academic institution, the University of Tokyo has developed a robot for kitchen use. The aptly named Kitchen Robot was demonstrated to Japanese reporters yesterday at the university’s campus in Tokyo.

The robot is able to clean dishes, bowls, spoons, forks and similar items without fail (without breaking them). It can even automatically place dishes in a dishwasher.

The researchers claim they will be able to develop a robot for mass consumers by 2018.
