The demo for the PC version Football Manager 2009 is now available. The game, for you normal people who are allergic to simulation games, puts you in the role of a big league football (soccer) manager. It’s sorta like Fantasy Football, but only one-third as lame.

Amazingly, this is the first edition of the game to be fully rendered in 3D. About time Sports Interactive, the game’s developers, got its act together.

Most of the big leagues are there, including the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and MLS; there’s 350,000 players in the database, including thin-skinned Wayne Rooney and AC Milan-bound David Beckham.

I think I’ve said this in the past, but these types of games are probably a little too wonkish for me. Granted, I have the patience of a gnat these days, so that may be misleading.

The game comes out for PC and Mac on November 14 in Europe.
