Kenwood recently announced it will expand [JP] its “Media Keg”/ MG-E series of portable media players with a new model, the MG-E504. The company didn’t talk about plans for outside Japan, but at least it translated the menu into English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch and Italian. An international version doesn’t seem to be impossible.

The device is nothing really special though. It features a 1.5 inch OLED screen, 4GB of internal memory (expandable through microSD cards), supports MP3/WAV/AAC/WMA/JPEG/BMP files and comes with a USB 2.0 port. 4GB hold 60 hours of music (roughly 900 songs).

The MG-E504 will hit Japanese stores in three different colors (pink, black and white) at the end of this month and is priced at $140. Kenwood plans to sell a trimmed down version, the MG-E502 (featuring just 2GB of memory), one month later for $120.
