Here’s one sector where fierce competition has helped the consumer: set-top boxes. Everybody’s competing over how many features they can fit in their box, and for how cheap — instead of just figuring out the best way to chisel us at every turn. Tivo is continuing a good thing here by making the whole YouTube subscription and channel service part of their own. Now you can keep up with those amazing Anime music videos much more easily.
