Rumors and leaks about Sony’s latest SXRD projector has been floating around AV forums for some time now so this unit might be old news to some. Even still, Sony brought the VPL-HW10 out at IFA for the whole world to see. For those not aware, this guy’s calling card is based around x.v.Colour performance for a low, but yet unannounced, price. Sony claims that there isn’t a screen door effect, and the Advanced Iris 2 dynamic contrast adjustment always provides the best picture. The rest of the specs round out with 1080p24 HDMI input, 22dB fan, 1.6 zoom lens, 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio paired with 1000 ANSI luman brightness and powered by a 200W lamp. Just like you, I would like to know how much cake this new unit cost, but for some reason, Sony hasn’t released pricing for most of their IFA releases, including this one. Sorry.
