TiVo partners with E.W. to force crappy TV into your home

Entertainment Weekly has teemed up with TiVo to create a service that will automatically record recommendations from the “largest, most-respected brand in the entertainment industry”. The content stems from Entertainment Weekly’s ‘What to Watch’ suggestions.

I don’t see how this is good news for anybody. Seriously, TiVo lay off the press releases. You’re touting your service as a method to watch even lousier TV?

But wait, there’s more.

Users will be able to view video content from EW.com! Now you will be able to watch such engaging web programs such as, “Just a Minute”, “Ausiello TV” and “Idolatry”, without having to even turn on the computer. How’s that for living in the future?

Even the press release doesn’t sound excited.
