A lawsuit has been filed against Apple over the company’s “defective” iPhone 3G. The plaintiff, from Birmingham, Alabama, argues that the iPhone 3G is a piece of junk, with shoddy data transfer performance, lots of dropped called, an inconsistent 3G connection, and so on. (The case doesn’t mention hardware problems, like the easily breakable body.) Anyone who uses Twitter, you poor thing, will have noticed all the “the 3G connection sucks” tweets flying across the service.

Apple is supposed to fix many of these problems with an upcoming firmware update.

Or is it a faulty chip that’s to blame?

The plaintiff is seeking class-action status for the lawsuit.

Wouldn’t it have been prudent to wait for Apple’s fix before filing this lawsuit?
