The Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery are testing a system that sends a message from the Smithsonian to Bluetooth-enabled phones, messages will be sent from bus stops in D.C.’s most pedestrian-trafficked areas. If users accept the message, an image like the ones posted on the bus shelter will appear on the users phone.
According to an A.P. report, the museum wants to start marketing to younger audiences.
The campaign is promoting an Asian art exhibit “Garden and Cosmos: The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur,” which will be on view from October until early January.
