If you were one of the 10 people who thought the App Store would be a failure, you might want to check out this WSJ article. Also, stop talking to yourself on the subway and wearing rain boots in the middle of summer, crazyface.

Speaking of the App store for the first time since its launch, Steve Jobs has revealed some numbers. In its first 30 days, Apple has already pushed 60 million downloads to iPhone users. While most of these were free downloads, the non-gratis have already churned out a solid $30 million in sales. After Apple’s cut, around $21 million of this will go into the pockets of iPhone developers (Atleast $2 million of which will go to Sega for its 300,000+ Super Monkey Ball sales).

During the interview, Jobs confirmed that Apple can nix applications off your iPhone be it that they were found to be malicious after App Store approval. “Hopefully we never have to pull that lever, but we would be irresponsible not to have a lever like that to pull,” he said. The “lever” remains unused; until Apple goes and pulls it simply to flex their power, I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
