You can say what you want about Thanko but the Japanese accessory maker never fails to amaze. This time, they came up with a physical padlock [JP] for everything USB: sticks, connector cables, mouses etc. That means a thief would have to work out a 3-digit number code to be able to steal your data or use your valuable hardware.

The low-tech padlock doesn’t offer that much security but at least it’s only $7. People living outside Japan have to hope that Thanko’s will include their newest brainchild in the company’s official English online shop (shipping begins August 16).

When they do, be sure to enter “raremono5″ as a coupon code before the payment to get a 5% discount.
