Japanese accessory maker Thanko today presented a new multimedia player, the DTLMP42G [JP]. The device will be available from July 29th for $83. Weighing 70g, the player is sized at 50×87×11mm.

The DTLMP42G features a USB port, built-in speakers, a 2.8-inch TFT screen with 400×240 resolution and comes with 2GB flash memory. It supports SDHC and microSD cards and the following formats: AVI/FLV/RM/RMVB/MP3/WMA/JPEG. Voice recording in WAV format is also possible (32/64kbps). The battery is good for up to 4 hours of video and around 10 hours of audio playback.

The palm-size device is currently Japan-only but may become available in Thanko’s new American shop, which already went online. Shipping of products is supposed to start August 16th and they are currently offering discount coupons for advance orders (the DTLMP42G isn’t listed yet though).
