High Voltage Software are calling out Wii developers for not putting enough graphical oomph in their Wii games. High Voltage’s new Quantum3 engine supports many advanced graphical effects not being used by developers they say aren’t delivering. It’s a fair criticism – the draw to the Wii isn’t for its graphics, but do they really need to pale next to God of War? How come Super Mario Galaxy looks amazing but half the other games look like they’re from 2004?

High Voltage say they’re “hoping to raise a new bar.” I’m not sure that’s the way I’d say it, but I get the idea and I’m behind them all the way.
