I’m not a big fan of watching movies on my computer regardless of the size of my monitor, which is 22-inches. But it seems that’s the direction things are moving in. More and more people are ditching their TVs for higher-res monitors to watch video content on the computer. LG has taken notice and announced a 10,000:1 contrast ratio monitor, which happens to be their highest spec Digital Fine Control peripheral. Details are scant at this point, but an LG spokesperson had this to say,

“The monitor offers greater depth when viewing movies, making darks darker and whites whiter. The higher ratio offers greater image clarity and colour shading not previously experienced on a computer screen.”
