Sony showed the BBC a top-secret 2009 PS3 game last week that supposedly will set a whole new standard in “story-telling and immersion.” Reporter Darren Waters, in his dot.life blog, only hints at the game—he promised Sony up and down that he wouldn’t give away any details of the game. Why, then, any of us care is another matter. So what—Sony supposedly has a “game-changing” (that’s 100 percent marketing speak) title in the works. Wake us when there’s a screenshot.

The first thing I thought of when I read the dot.life post? A little game called Daikatana. That, too, was supposed to raise the bar and sing from mountain tops and we all know how it turned out.
