Product Name: Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690
Description: This 2.5-GHz Core 2 Duo laptop includes HD DVD playback, for what that’s worth these days. It plays back in full 1080p and includes a mini webcam and GeForce 8600M graphics card. It also supports HDMI-CEC out.

Price: About $3,000
In-store date: Immediate
Site: I love Qosmio screens but as I said before, single format HD disc playing devices are going the way of the Dodo — if HD DVD doesn’t get there first. However, the value of these laptops is clear to anyone in a dorm room or small apt. This is basically a TV with a computer attached, which is good for everybody.
