Wireless USB video coming soon?

usbdisplay.jpgWe’re not sure immediately this would be for, but we like it all the same. DisplayLink and Alereon have finished development on their wireless USB monitor system for PCs. Through software and a special adapter, you send your computer’s video through the ether via a USB dongle, which is then reflected on your monitor with a similar VGA/DVI dongle.

At somewhere between $150 and $250, it’s not in everyone’s interest to cut the cord, however as a first time product, it might make a market for cheaper copycats, which could get interesting.
