Penryn is hitting the streets. The 45 Nanometer procs are promising to be the “biggest leap forward” in processor design in almost 40 years. Or so they say. We really hear this type of hyperbole from Intel every couple years. That being said, this might be the one time it’s accurate.
Intel’s chips are in production now, and while no street date has been officially announced, we expect to see prototypes of the first hardware using the processor sometime after CES. But if you’re waiting for Penryn, we hope you’re not holding your breath. Turning blue for nerdy reasons suck.
