No need to freak out over this quiet launch of the 3G Samsung t639 for T-mo. There’s no way in hell they’re even close to launching their 3G network because they’re waiting on the US government to relinquish the spectrum T-mobile purchased last year. If it concerns national security, which it does, we won’t see jack from T-mo’s 3G network for years to come so don’t hold your breath. Again, I’ll eat my hat if it launches before the end of next year.
However, the t639 is being sold in select carrier stores in NYC. It features interchangeable face plates, a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD storage and that’s about it.
