I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Music phones are all the rage and they’re not going to die anytime soon. We’ve covered a lot of them before and lately it’s been Samsung running at the front of the pack. There’s the Beat and the Juke and now the SGH-F330 and SGH-i450. Samsung is all about bringing you, the consumer, perfect duality in a blend of 100 percent phone and 100 percent music player in one device.
The F330 aka Ultra Slim HSDPA Music Slider is two faced, but in a good way. Music controls are located on the front and sides and supports multi-codec files and you can even have the music bumping in the background while you’re checking your e-mail or browsing the Web. It also includes a 2-megapixel camera and microSD slot. It’s pretty thin at just 13.5mm. The Music Slider rolls out in Germany this month for about $367 and hopefully comes to the US sometime before the end of the year.
I’ve got my eye on the i450 though, and for good reason. Just look at it. The i450 sports a two-way slide much like the Nokia N95. It runs with a Symbian S60 OS and also rocks HSDPA. To activate the music player you just slide down and voila. The i450 includes 35MB of internal storage with a microSD expansion slot. I’m not sure what ICEpower is, but it sounds awesome or it could be the Bang & Olufsen designed amp. It’s available in Italy this month for about $500 with the rest of Europe and maybe the US sometime later this year.
