Verizon trying not to screw customers

Well, if I were a Verizon customer I’d probably think this was great news, but I’m not, so I don’t. I think they’ll try and screw you in some other way. Anyways, if you’re an existing customer or you’re planning to switch to Verizon then you should be aware that you can switch your calling plan without fear of extending your contract. It’s being called the Verizon Wireless Worry Free Guarantee, which now includes the Test Drive offer of trying out the network for 30 days ‘virtually risk-free’. Want a free phone? You’ll have to wait two years and then renew your account with a calling plan of at least $34.99.

Verizon is also enticing suckers customers to sing up for My Account (online account management service) with free Backup Assistant, a new phone at promo prices every year if you sign a two-year agreement with a calling plan of at least $49.99 and a Minute Check to tell you how many minutes you’ve used.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
