Japan Building The Next Internets

Those crazy Japanese are at it again with talk of building some new fangled technology that will replace our beloved Internets by 2020. This is all well and good, but they better deliver on the promise of faster and more secure throughputs as well as resiliency against virus’ and breakdowns.

I suppose the bigger news coming out of the press conference in Brazil is communications minister Yoshihide Suga’s promise to convert all homes from analog to digital broadcasting by 2011. They’re even going to provide low income households with the necessary converters or, at the very least, provide them with a coupon. Isn’t that nice?
