• New Face-Recognizing Cameras in August

    Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

samsungSamsung has just announced two upcoming digital cameras dubbed the L730 and L830. The cameras will be 7-megapixels and 8-megapixels, respectively, and will feature Samsung’s Intelligent Face Recognition — a new type of technology that automagically identifies and focuses in on people’s faces.

Video capture mode will operate in four different quality settings ranging from 320 x 240 on up to 800 x 592, which is kind of an odd resolution but this info is from a UK-based press release, so there’s a chance that number could change to 800 x 600 when these cameras go stateside. Both devices come with a 3x optical zoom, 2.5″ LCD, and 16Mb of internal storage with an option to pop in up to 4GB of SD memory.

Look for them in the end of August for around $240 (L730) and $300 (L830).
