Mobile accessories is where the money will come from, says a new report from ABI Research. This study reports that the market for mobile accessories will generate more than $32 billion in revenue in 2007, which is actually far greater than the $28 billion expected from the sale of smartphones! Around 77% of the revenues of accessories will come from the sale of “after-market” add-ons, and ABI Research further expects the market for mobile phone accessories to grow steadily in the next five years, with the potential to generate more than $80 billion in revenues in 2012. Who knew all those headsets and adapters added up to such sales?
