HP Enters Gaming Notebook Market

HP will soon be entering the gaming notebook market and things are looking up with the Pavilion HDX. The 20-inch laptop is more of a portable desktop and at 12 lbs you’ll thank HP for implementing a handle. What makes the Pavilion HDX even better is the Windows Media Center remote dock that sits unabashed to the left of the keyboard.

The specs for the HDX haven’t been officially revealed, but it’s expected that this laptop for gamers will include Intel’s Santa Rosa processor and graphics will be taken care of by NVIDIA’s GeForce Go 8000-series GPU. There’s also some speculation that an HD DVD drive will be included with an HDMI output and built-in webcam. There is no official word on launch or price, but Intel will officially launch the Santa Rosa notebook platform this week so we may see an official release of HP’s notebook soon.
