The Shine is coming, the Shine is coming! Actually, it’s already here, for $230 with a 2-year contract. Yup, one of the most hyped cellphones in recent months (alongside the iPhone and LG Prada) is finally available on Verizon Wireless as the LG XV8700. There’s no denying that it’s a pretty phone, but it’s really nothing more than a brushed metal clamshell. (On Verizon, no less, which means they’ll clamp it down to no end.) It’s got a 2-megapixel camera (which is good since most non-smartphones still rock a 1.3-megapixel one) and supports EV-DO. That’s about it. So if looks are all you care about, dive right in. Otherwise, well, move along.
