    A little off-topic, but it’s quite cool. Matthew Gray mashed up the publication dates and locations for thousands of titles in Google Books. He then mapped them over time, showing the spread of modern publishing from Europe into the Americas and Southeast Asia. Shown here are the early 1800s.
