• Playstation Home Service Announced

    Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Sony is looking to compete with both Nintendo’s Mii Channel and Second Life it seems. Phil Harrison today announced the Playstation Home, where you can interact with other PS3 users, buy virtual furniture and clothing, and show off in-game trophies. Sounds a little bit like part Animal Crossing mixed with Second Life rather than a copycat version of Nintendo’s Mii.

There’s also a way for you to create your own games with a service called LittleBigPlanet that’ll be coming out around the same time as Playstation Home. This is what Sony really needs to push the PS3 into the hands of many and to make it a more welcome console in the gaming world.
