TiVo has released version 2.4 beta of its desktop software. The new version allows users to transcode non-DRMed video from PC for playback on TiVo.

In addition to transcoding capabilities, the new service can broadcast HD photos from PC to TiVO.The service costs $25 for the TiVo Desktop Plus upgrade. Sorry, no Mac version yet.
