Egg Chair Unscrambles Spine

Designed by Swiss physicians and engineers, the ErgoChair is an egg-shaped ball that when sat in, does not compress discs in the spine like regular chairs do. The ball allows free movement of the body to help the sitter achieve the best possible posture, according to the product page.

At $160, the easy-to-assemble chair includes an air pump and can be inflated or deflated to the desired height of the individual. The egg also can be removed from the chair and used as an exercise ball.

The scariest part is what happens when you sit in a normal chair:

It results in flattening of the lumbar spine and altered head carriage. This can result in chronic lower back pain, weak abdominal muscles, and neck problems that often lead to headaches. Prolonged sitting can also cause poor circulation in the legs resulting in painful leg cramps or the sensation of the legs falling asleep.

That’s right, you heard it here first. Without the ErgoChair, you are as good as dead.
