Meet the GSM Doorbell. No, really. When your guests arrive, you’ll be notified via your mobile phone. You can then use the phone to open the door and let them in, unlock the gate, or other tasks (release the hounds, etc). If you’re like us and hate waiting for the cable dude, this is perfect. Or, if you enjoy creeping out Girl Scouts as they sell their cookies, it’s even better.
There’s an optional intercom kit for two-way communications, as well. There are other ways to automate your home and control it from afar, but this little flowery fella is a great way for beginners to start.
