Goodbye GameBoy, We'll Miss You

Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime has given the word that the GameBoy and GameBoy Advance will be seeing their last holiday season this year.

We think that Game Boy Advance certainly has at least one more holiday season left in it. For us, it continues to be a great stepping stone for five-, six-, seven-year-old consumers to have their first great handheld gaming experience and then transition right into DS

There will still be third-party games coming out for the next few months on the GameBoy Advance, but Nintendo’s focused has moved over to the successful DS and DS-Lite and Wii. At this point, you’re better off just buying a DS-Lite since it can play GameBoy Advance games. Though the DS and Wii are both great products from Nintendo, there is nothing like playing old school Pokemon on a GameBoy Advance. If you still have one, save it, some day it’ll be as rare as the original NES.
