Verizon and Samsung Team to Drop Mobile TV in America

, has cleared the confines of the FCC dungeon, we’re one step closer to being more like Korea. Verizon is set to offer a Samsung slider that will be the first handset to take advantage portable television, and it’ll be sooner rather than later.

The U620 is a fairly decent midrange phone, offering EV-DO, a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD, and Stereo Bluetooth. It also packs Verizon’s not-quite-real-yet VCAST Mobile TV. Trusty sources say that this service is nothing more than MediaFLO rebranded.

We don’t have a release date, as the phone itself hasn’t surfaced from the bowels of the FCC. We’re expecting it sometime early next year, but don’t be surprised if it shows up sooner than we expect, as things from bowels tend to do.
