. This is another studio Apple needs to make iTunes a real alternative to DVD, which is apparently the company’s focus for the next year. Fox has been a hold out, much as it was with accepting the DVD format it now loves. This move is yet another step closer to the studio becoming 21st Century Fox (See what we did there? We’re so clever).
Hopefully within the next few months, after Apple releases its iTV, it will have support from all the major studios. What will be interesting will be to see if the Mac maker can work a deal with the independent studios, much as it has with indie record labels. This will give America equal access to a broad range of entertainment, and seems to be a likely move.
