MobileCrunch got the scoop on GMail Mobile, a Java-based application for smartphones that gives direct access to your GMail inbox in a streamlined and quite attractive little package. To get it, visit gmail.com/app and rock out.

It has dedicated keys for forwarding, replying to, and browsing messages, reducing the overall hunt and peck experience considerably. We’re busily installing Opera Mobile on the Dash right now, or we’d head over and grab it. However, please let us know what you think.
