Theoretical 1000PPM Printer in the Works

In a paper for the Applied Physics Letters journal, two engineers from Israel detail a plan to make an ink-jet printer that spits out 1,000 PPM, something most human beings wouldn’t need in their home office. The head is similar to an LCD monitor, and has micro-reservoirs of ink that’s responsible for one section of a page. This means there’s no movement of the ink head across and down the page to print something, just spurt and done – just like an LCD.

We can see this as useful for large businesses and maybe the medical field, or whatever field needs lots of paper printed in a short amount of time. If everything goes according to plan, the head should be out within two years.
